Sonja Kälberer
Born in 1970 in Stuttgart. Lives and work in Leipzig and Dettingen.
1990-1992 Degree in German and Slavonic studies at the university of Tübingen.
1992-1995 Training as a nurse.
2003-2009 Degree at Leipzig university of graphics and book art.

For a number of years, one room in Sonja Kälberer's apartment has undergone constant metamorphoses. Little by little, the artist has removed the furniture and instead given the one-windowed room a new look with different light sources and materials; the familiar room becomes a cramped cave with rambling textile paths, an opulent stage backdrop or a shimmering silvery landscape.
